I installed this recoil reducer in a light weight muzzleloader. Reduced barrel jump to almost nothing! Better groups! Very manageable recoil. Highly recommend.

This is truly the recoil solution!!!

I took a risk installing this recoil reducer on my 300 Mag because I didn't find many reviews. But let me tell you, I'm so glad that I did. In summary, this thing WORKS. I was at wits end trying to tame the recoil on my mag short of putting on a muzzle brake. I ordered and installed the 16oz tube of mercury (in a Boyd's thumbhole stock!) in my own garage. It was installed at about a 30 degree upward angle toward the barrel. The customer service rep at C&H recommended this in the event that I take shots downhill. After I drilled, installed, and put my butt-pad back on, my rifle feels completely new. It's a little heavy, naturally, but it shoots amazingly. The fore-end stills flys up every shot, but on my end of the rifle it is much more calm. No more scope-eye. And now my groups are smaller as my confidence is building. The mercury reducer doesn't make a sound. No "sloshing" at all. It simply just works exactly as they say it will. I'll NEVER consider a muzzle brake without putting in a mercury recoil reducer on my next rifle. Summed up, it's worth every penny the first time you shoot. My 300 Mag feels like I'm shooting a .243 nowadays.
